Then he called the crowd to him along with his disciples and said: “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. For whoever wants to save their life[a] will lose it, but whoever loses their life for me and for the gospel will save it.
Mark 8:34-35 (NIV)
Since the beginning of our church, we have seen God’s hand moving in the most amazing ways. The only way to continue to move with God and His version of the Church of The Lakes’ story is through prayer. We have a prayer team that meets every Tuesday in the COTLakes Admin Office and prays earnestly for all that God is doing through and around us. We encourage you to live a lifestyle of prayer and fasting!
Join us for an intentional season of seeking God through prayer and fasting, starting January 6th, 2025. Over the course of 21 days, we’ll unite as a church to deepen our faith, connect with God, and intercede for our community, government, church, and one another. In Mark 8:34-35, Jesus calls His followers to a radical commitment: to deny themselves, take up their cross, and follow Him wholeheartedly. This is more than a call to belief—it’s a call to becoming more like Jesus. It’s an invitation to prioritize God’s will above our own, even when it requires sacrifice. During this time of prayer and fasting, we’ll explore what it means to examine our commitment and renew our Resolve to follow Christ with all that we are.
