RETURN TO FIRST LOVE

REVELATION 2:4–5 NIV

“Yet I hold this against you: You have forsaken the love you had at first. Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first.”

DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT

The church in Ephesus was busy, doctrinally aware, and hardworking. But Jesus said they had lost their first love. That is a sobering warning. We can do the right things and lose the right heart. We can serve Jesus publicly while drifting from Him privately. Prayer and fasting help us return. They strip away the noise and bring us back to affection, intimacy, and obedience.

Lord, restore my first love for You.
